Historical Note

Air India is the current flag carrier airline for India. The airline was founded in 1932 as Tata Airlines. Post-World War II it was renamed Air India. In 2006 it merged with Indian Airlines. The airline continues operations from its hub at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
