Abstract
Norman "Jim" Silas Archibald (1894-1975) of Seattle, Washington served in the U.S. Army Air Service, 95th Aero Squadron during World War I, and later published a bestselling book on his experience. He served again in the Air Force during World War II at home in Seattle. The collection contains correspondence, military documents, photographs, and other materials relating to Archibald's life and military service.

The Ole B. Bennedsen World War II Collection documents Bennedsen's service as a pilot of Boeing B-17 aircraft on operational missions over Germany near the end of World War II. This small collection includes a Pilot's Flight Log with entries from 1943-1945, a pay card, and a list of all of Bennedsen's 35 operational missions over Germany, which includes the dates and names of German cities. Also present are two black-and-white photographic prints depicting Bennedsen and his "Bonnie Lassie"...

Contents of the Collection
The collection contains six handwritten letters ranging from February 26, 1869 to April 18, 1883 between William E. Boeing, Sr. (WEB) and his father, Wilhelm Böing. It is not always clear who is writing to whom in the letters, since father and son shared the same name. Additionally, not all of the letters have accompanying envelopes which could provide clarification based on the address. The letters are in German and have not been translated.

The German Aces Photograph is one photographic print featuring two images. The larger image shows top fighter ace Erich Hartmann examining a chart with fellow fighter ace Gerhard “Gerd” Barkhorn. The two are wearing official Nazi Luftwaffe uniforms. The smaller, insert photograph is a formal portrait of General Adolf Galland in dress uniform. The print is signed by Erich Hartmann and Adolf Galland.
