The United States Army Air Forces (1941-1947; USAAF or AAF) were the military aviation service of the United States of America during and immediately after World War II, successor to the United States Army Air Corps and the direct predecessor of the United States Air Force.

Content Description
The Dodge H. Dean World War II Collection consists primarily of training materials from Dean's service with both the Royal Canadian Air Force and the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Training materials from Dean's time with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) from about 1937-1942 make up the bulk of the collection.
