Historical Note
Founded in 1888, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is an active
trade union representing workers in multiple industries, such as aerospace, transportation, defense and more. Members work at assorted organizations, including Harley-Davidson, Southwest Airlines, Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, Freightliner, Tennessee Valley Authority and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Most of its membership is in the United States and Canada.

Abstract
Abraham Lincoln Brearcliffe, Jr. (1899-1984) was born in Washington state and worked for Boeing from 1930-1945. The collection features photographs, clippings and newsletters, foreman's materials, labor union membership books, and assorted ephemera from Brearcliffe's time at Boeing, most of which are almost exclusively from the war years (1941-1945).
