Historical Note

United Airlines, Inc., commonly referred to as United, is a major United States airline headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. United was established by the amalgamation of several airlines in the late 1920s, the oldest of these being Varney Air Lines, which was founded in 1926. The airline merged with Continental Airlines in 2010, making it one of the world's largest airlines with hundreds of domestic and international destinations.

Contents of the Collection The Jack H. Frazelle Collection is comprised of photographs and textual materials collected by and/or given to Jack H. Frazelle during his 20+ year career as Assistant Manager of Boeing Field. Materials range from the 1910s to the 1980s.The collection includes assorted photographs, both in color and black-and-white, depicting aircraft, both in flight and on the ground; Boeing facilities; and one image of the Graf Zeppelin in a hangar in Lakehurst, New Jersey.
