The Julius A. Barr Clippings

Abstract Julius A. Barr (1905-1939) was born in Normal, Illinois and spent time as a personal pilot to Chinese military figures in the mid-1930s as well as worked as a Boeing test pilot from 1938-1939. The collection contains four clippings related to Barr's time at Boeing and his death.

Content Description This small collections consists of four posters used by workers striking at the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington, in September 2005. Two posters read: "Aerospace Machinists on Strike, Lodge 751 AFL-CIO, At Boeing." The other two posters read: "Machinists Union On Strike Against Boeing, ULP!, Unfair Labor Practices!, IAM&AW District Lodge 751, AFL-CIO."

Boeing SST Research and Development Team photograph

Content Description This small collection consists of a single item: an 8x10" black-and-white photographic group portrait of the Boeing SST research and development team. The print is dated both 1962 and 1963 in various handwritten notations. There are 122 people featured in the photograph and in the image they are seated in an auditorium. The names of the individuals are printed on the back of the photograph.

Abstract Abraham Lincoln Brearcliffe, Jr. (1899-1984) was born in Washington state and worked for Boeing from 1930-1945. The collection features photographs, clippings and newsletters, foreman's materials, labor union membership books, and assorted ephemera from Brearcliffe's time at Boeing, most of which are almost exclusively from the war years (1941-1945).
